Beagles can be known to wander and are very independent so they do require a fenced in yard or constant lead walking. They also love to eat and so over feeding in this breed can be a problem. All puppies howl initially during crate training and so having a puppy in an apartment setting is not a good idea. Though we have placed several puppies in these situations very successfully, we do so with great care and specific requirements concerning those placements must be met.
